Platform Development

GolfWir

A golf community built by its own members. Everyone who joins appears on the Hall of Fame as a founding member, submits ideas and votes on what gets built next. New features unlock as soon as the community reaches its next shared goal.

Problem

Golf apps are built by clubs, associations or corporations, and decisions are made over the heads of the players. Anyone missing a feature has no channel, and anyone wanting to build a community needs capital before the first user arrives.

Solution

GolfWir reverses the order. Community first, product second. Founding members sign up, submit ideas and vote. Every milestone on the roadmap is built only once its community goal is reached. Support flows directly through Stripe with no platform fee.

Result

A platform whose priorities are set by the players themselves. Privacy from day one: own server in Germany, no analytics tools, no tracking cookies, legal pages up to date with current German law.

What the solution does

01

Hall of Fame and Founding Members

Join with or without a contribution. Name, city and comment appear only if the person opts in. Profile pictures are downscaled in the browser and stored without metadata. An edit key allows changes without a login.

02

Ideas and Voting

Anyone can submit suggestions, the community votes. Whatever ranks highest gets built. A random identifier without personal reference prevents duplicate votes; a daily IP hash throttles abuse.

03

Roadmap with Community Goals

Development is told as a round of golf. Every hole is a milestone with clearly defined features that are built only once the goal is reached. No promise without coverage.

04

Directory, Map and Golf Travel

Provider directory with search and an OpenStreetMap map, plus a travel corner with partner enquiry. Payments run through Stripe, everything else on an own server in Germany.
